Vanderjagt Terrible

Just when the poor folks in Dallas thought they had gotten things back on the track by getting Terrell Owens under control, Mike Vanderjagt decides to kick like a sophpmore kicker that's only played a handful of games in his life.

This guy is falling apart, my question is how do you keep an NFL kicker that can't hit field goals from 32 and 33 yards out? I wouldn't keep a high school kicker that can't make that.

Owens Misses Second Practice

Wide receiver Terrell Owens rested his sore left hamstring again Friday morning after missing his first practice of training camp Thursday.

Dressed in sweats and a baseball cap, Owens watched while the Dallas Cowboys practiced for two hours on a soggy River Ridge Complex field.

Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said he didn't know when Owens would return to practice, but he wasn't concerned about his star receiver's hamstring. And Owens said Thursday he and the team are simply being cautious.

Owens Not Practicing

Terrell Owens did not practice with the Dallas Cowboys because of a sore left hamstring. Wearing a hooded sweat shirt, shorts and a wrap on his left thigh, Owens spent most of his time slowly riding an exercise bicycle. He stopped pedaling to do a situp drill and another with a medicine ball. In between, he spent several minutes talking to owner Jerry Jones.

The injury doesn't seem to be serious. Owens smiled often and his conversation with Jones seemed lighthearted. At one point, Jones pointed to his own hamstring. They shook hands and Jones tapped a punch on Owens' shoulder as they parted.

Cowboys Sign Williams

The Dallas Cowboys signed Pro Bowl safety Roy Williams to a four-year contract extension, securing the hard-hitting run-stopper through the 2010 season. Financial terms weren't immediately available.

"I am going to be a Cowboy for life," said Williams, Dallas' first-round pick in 2002. "I'm staying here." Williams, who turns 26 this month, had 81 tackles, three interceptions, 2 1/2 sacks and a touchdown last season.

Getting Picked On

Dallas Cowboy, Terrell Owens believes he is getting the short end of the stick from the media. The media make him look like a selfish player, although he admits to saying things about other he wouldn't want said about himself.

Terrell Owens told Bryant Gumbel on an HBO special that he dishes out more criticism than he is willing to take.

Owens doesn't think reporters are conspiring against him as much as using him "to gain viewers' attention." Owens also discussed his spat with quarterback Donovan McNabb that eventually led to his release by the Eagles. Owens believes McNabb was jealous of the attention Owens was receiving in Philadelphia.

Keith Davis Shot

Dallas Cowboy, Keith Davis suffered two gunshot wounds while driving along Interstate 635 in Dallas. Davis is listed in stable condition and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

This marks the second time Davis has been shot in the last three years. Davis was released from the Cowboys after being shot twice in 2003. Davis was shot twice in the parking lot of a nightclub while trying to break up a fight that involved his girlfriend at the time.
